Few stages were necessary for the development of the Coupe Ès-SENS Ferrières.
Imagined by the Club ŒNS , the œnology club of the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris (ENS Ulm) since the beginning of 2010, realized in 2016, opened to International Schools since 2018, the Coupe Ès SENS Ferrières is an innovative competition, which is not only centered on blind wine tasting, but also promotes French gastronomy with tests around food and wine pairings.
The École Ferrières , French excellence School in gastronomy, hospitality and luxury, is a strong partner of the Coupe Ès-SENS Ferrières since the beginning.
2016 and 2017 : The Coupe ESSENS-Ferrières
For the first two editions, the ŒNS club joined forces along with the œnology association of ESSEC (Élyxir) to found what was then called the Coupe ESSENS-Ferrières. During the first two years, this new competition was reserved for French students, with first 9 and then 12 teams participating.
2018: a milestone year
- In a long-term vision of the event and in agreement with its creators, Club ŒNS will organize, from the 2018 session onwards, what becomes the Coupe Ès-SENS Ferrières. The phonetics of the original name is preserved, but the graphic has changed a bit, highlighting both the academic tradition of the Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris and the awakening of the senses summoned during the various events of the competition.
- 2018 will also be the opening year of the contest at various international schools and universities.
